1. A method for non-destructive, selectably reversible image compositing, comprising:
- providing a displayed image comprising at least a region of an original image;
modifying said displayed image to produce a modified displayed image;
producing a modification file including resolution independent parameters operative for selectively modifying said displayed image to produce said modified displayed image and not including said modified displayed image, without destroying the original image; and
storing the modification file within a database of images.

1. A method for non-destructive, selectably reversible image compositing, comprising:
-
providing a displayed image comprising at least a region of an original image;
modifying said displayed image to produce a modified displayed image;
producing a modification file including resolution independent parameters operative for selectively modifying said displayed image to produce said modified displayed image and not including said modified displayed image, without destroying the original image; and

modifying said modified displayed image to produce a further modified displayed image, after said storing the modification file;
producing a further modification file including resolution independent parameters operative for modifying said displayed image to produce said further modified displayed image and not including said modified displayed image or said further modified displayed image; and
storing the further modification file within the database of images.

3. A method according to claim 2 wherein said further modification file and said modification file each include a modification parameter portion, and wherein said modification parameter portion of said further modification file differs from the modification parameter portion of said modification file.
-
4. A method according to claim 3 wherein the modification parameter portion of said further modification file includes the modification parameter portion of said modification file and an additional modification parameter portion and wherein the modification parameter portion of said modification file may be readily accessed in the further modification file with or without the additional modification parameter portion.

5. A method according to claim 1 wherein said original image is a previously modified image.
-
6. A method according to claim 1 wherein said original image is a non-previously modified image.
-
7. A method according to claim 1 also comprising rendering a composited image by:
-
applying at least some of said resolution independent parameters to at least a portion of said original image to produce composited image data; and
supplying said composited image data to a display device for rendering said composited image thereon.

8. A method for rendering a composited image comprising:
-
providing a database of images including a modification file, the modification file including resolution independent parameters operative for modifying at least one image which is not said composited image to produce said composited image;
selecting at least some of the resolution independent parameters;
applying the selected resolution independent parameters to at least a portion of said at least one image to produce composited image data; and
supplying said composited image data to a display device for rendering said composited image thereon.

9. A system for non-destructive, selectably reversible image compositing, comprising:
-
a display providing a displayed image comprising at least a region of an original image;
an image modifying user interface modifying said displayed image without destroying the original image, to produce a modified displayed image; and
a database of images storing a modification file, the modification file including resolution independent parameters operative for selectively modifying said displayed image to produce said modified displayed image and not including said modified displayed image. - View Dependent Claims (10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15)

16. A system for rendering a composited image comprising:
-
a database of images including a modification file, the modification file including resolution independent parameters operative for modified at least one image which is not said composited image to produce said composited image;
an image processor selecting at least some of the resolution independent parameters and applying the selected resolution independent parameters to at least a portion of said at least one image to produce composited image data; and
a display device for rendering said comaposited image thereon.
