1. A method for providing for video display of an image for a selected composition from a composition database, the method comprising:
- processing the composition database to provide image data corresponding to a video display for the selected composition;
mapping the image data to the a video display presentation of the selected composition;
storing the image data in an image database;
logically ordering a plurality of predefined portions according to a corresponding relation of the video display for the respective portions of the video display;
defining pages of image data from the image database responsive to a logical ordering of the plurality of defined portions;
selecting specific ones of the defined portions of the image data for bookmarking;
selecting a specific location within defined portions;
associating an associated identification (ID) with the specific locations;
providing bookmark information;
associating the bookmark information with the associated ID and the specific location and;
providing for selective video display of the image data for the specific location responsive to user input based on associated bookmark information.

Abstract
An electronic image visualization system, such as a music stand system and display, management and communications methodologies relating thereto are presented. The electronic music stand system is comprised of a performer subsystem comprising a processing subsystem, librarian logic, performance logic, and communications management logic. The communications management logic provides management of communication via the communications interface with external apparatus responsive to the performance logic and the librarian logic. The user input apparatus and the display apparatus can be integrated into a touch-screen input display. The user input apparatus can alternatively be at least one of a touch-tablet, a stylus-based writing tablet, a mouse, a keyboard, a joystick, a game controller, and a switch. In a preferred embodiment, the librarian logic, the performance logic and the communications management logic are defined by program data stored in the data storage apparatus, and the processor is responsive to the program data for managing data formatting, displaying music, and management of communications of data with the external apparatus. In one embodiment, two Performer subsystems are operable alternatively as one of a single appliance as a linked set a linked mode and as two independent appliances a stand-alone mode, wherein in the linked mode each of the two Performer subsystems operate cooperatively with each other as a linked set to provide a two page display on the video presentation, and wherein in the stand alone mode each of the two Performer subsystems operates independently and mutually exclusive of the other to provide two independent and mutually exclusive single page displays on the video presentation. The present invention also relates to a method for providing for video display of music responsive to the music data stored in a music database. The method is comprised of defining a page of music image data from the music database; defining ordered logical sections; storing the mapping in a memory for selective retrieval; and providing for the video display of the music responsive to the mapping and the storing.

a processing subsystem comprised of a processor, a communications interface, and memory providing instruction data and other data;
a composition database providing composition data for a selected composition corresponding to a video display of the selected composition;
wherein the processing subsystem, responsive to the instruction data, generates an image database providing image data for use in directly generating a video display of the selected composition, and wherein the processing subsystem further provides for mapping and sectioning of the image data into a plurality of addressable defined portions of grouping of the image data representative of visual images for the selected composition;
a video display providing a video presentation having a defined display size;
means for providing for a user output responsive to a user input wherein the processor is responsive to the image database, the mapping and sectioning, and to the instruction data for use in directly generating a video display, wherein responsive to the user input of selecting portions of the image data for bookmarking, and selecting a specific location within the portions and providing bookmark information, the system associates an associated identification (ID) with the specific location, wherein the system further provides for associating the bookmark information with the associated ID and the specific location; and

41. A method of providing visual display of at least one selected composition responsive to a composition database, the method comprising:

processing a composition database to generate image data directly corresponding to a video display for the selected composition;
processing the image data to define a mapping for a plurality of logical sections of the image data;
selecting certain ones from the logical sections of the image data to define a mapping for a grouping for a defined page for video display responsive to a defined criteria logic for pagination;
providing a video display responsive to the image data and responsive to the mapping for the plurality of logical sections and to the mapping for the grouping of the respective logical sections for the respective image for video display;
wherein the image data is stored in an image database representative of a plurality of pages of the selected composition, further comprising;
selecting a respective one of the pages as a selected page for video display;
selecting the respective logical sections to provide the video display of the selected page;
selecting a specific location within the video display of the selected page;
associating an associated identification (ID) with the specific location;
providing bookmark information comprising at least one bookmark;
associating the bookmark information with the associated ID and the specific location; and

a processing subsystem for generating video image data in an image database representative of a video display presentation for a plurality of a fixed-size pages, responsive to the composition database, and for processing the video image data to define a mapping for a plurality of logical sections of the video image data;
means for selecting certain ones from the plurality of logical sections of the video image data to define a mapping for a grouping of logical sections for a defined page for video display responsive to a defined criteria logic for pagination; and
