Abstract

A spring plate, especially for a MacPherson strut unit, having an axial support surface for the final turn of a helical spring. The helical spring is centered by radial centering surfaces in the area of the circumferential contour of the final turn. The centering surface is divided into individual, partial centering surfaces, which come to rest against the circumferential contour of the helical spring.

1. A spring plate comprising:
- an axial support surface configured to support a final turn of a helical spring; and
  
  a plurality of centering surfaces formed on the axial support surface and positioned to center the helical spring on the axial support surface by contacting a circumferential contour of the final turn of the helical spring.

- - 2. The spring plate of claim 1, wherein at least one centering surface is positioned to contact an inner side of the circumferential contour of the final turn of the helical spring, and at least one centering surface is positioned to contact an outer side of the circumferential contour of the final turn of the helical spring.
  - 3. The spring plate of claim 2, wherein the at least one centering surface positioned to contact the inner side of the circumferential contour of the final turn of the helical spring is offset in a circumferential direction from the at least one centering surface positioned to contact the outer side of the circumferential contour of the final turn of the helical spring.
  - 4. The spring plate of claim 3, comprising two centering surfaces positioned to contact an inner side of the circumferential contour of the final turn of the helical spring offset in a circumferential direction from one another by an angle, and wherein a centering surface positioned to contact an outer side of the circumferential contour of the final turn of the helical spring is positioned within the angle of offset substantially at its midpoint.
  - 5. The spring pate of claim 1, wherein one of the centering surfaces is positioned to contact an outer side of the circumferential contour of the final turn of the helical spring
  - 6. The spring plate of claim 1, further comprising a run-off groove formed on the axial support surface radially within a circle where the circumferential contour of the final turn of the helical spring contacts the spring plate.
  - 7. The spring plate of claim 1, comprising two centering surfaces positioned to contact an inner side of the circumferential contour of the final turn of the helical spring, the two centering surfaces being offset in a circumferential direction from one another by an angle, and further comprising a run-off groove formed on the axial support surface radially within a circle where the circumferential contour of the final turn of the helical spring contacts the spring plate, the run-off groove being positioned circumferentially between the two centering surfaces.
  - 8. The spring plate of claim 7, wherein the two centering surfaces terminate radially closer to a center of the spring plate than the run-off groove.
  - 9. The spring plate of claim 1, wherein the centering surfaces are positioned on the spring plate parallel to a circle where the circumferential contour of the final turn of the helical spring contacts the spring plate.
  - 10. The spring plate of claim 1, comprising two centering surfaces positioned to contact an inner side of the circumferential contour of the final turn of the helical spring, and wherein the two centering surfaces are connected to one another by a connecting contour having an uncurved, slanted surface.
  - 11. The spring plate of claim 1, further comprising a stop formed as an upright tongue on the axial support surface, and configured to prevent relative of the helical spring relative to the spring plate.
