1. A multi input multi output receiving apparatus, comprising:
- a communication quality measuring section that measures communication quality of individual antennas using pilot signals transmitted from antennas of a transmitting side;
a transmitting section that feeds back feedback information based on the communication quality to the transmitting side;
a relative value calculating section that calculates relative values of the communication quality for the antennas between the communication quality of a reference antenna and the communication quality of the antennas other than the reference antenna in the antennas in the transmitting side; and
a feedback information generating section that generates the feedback information from an absolute value of the communication quality of the reference antenna and the relative values of the communication quality.

A MIMO receiver apparatus and a MIMO transmitter apparatus capable of reducing the feedback information amount to reduce the system traffics. A wireless communication apparatus (100) at a receiving end comprises a reception level determining part (130) that uses pilot signals transmitted from the antennas of a wireless communication apparatus (200) at a transmitting end to determine a communication quality (e.g., SINR) for each of the antennas (corresponding to substreams); a transmitting part (170) that transmits feedback information based on the communication qualities to the transmitting end; a relative value calculating part (150) that calculates, from both the communication quality of a reference antenna (corresponding to a reference substream) selected from the antennas at the transmitting end and the communication qualities of the antennas other than the reference antenna, relative values of the other antennas relative to the reference antenna; and a feedback information generating part (160) that generates the feedback information from both the absolute value of the communication quality of the reference antenna and the forgoing relative values of the communication qualities.

a received level measuring section that measures received levels of individual pilot signals transmitted from antennas of a transmitting side; a channel quality indicator determining section that determines channel quality indicator values of individual transmitting antennas based on the received levels; a relative value calculating section that calculates relative channel quality indicator values showing relative values of the channel quality indicator values between a reference antenna and antennas other than the reference antenna from a channel quality indicator value determined for the reference antenna and channel quality indicator values determined for the antennas other than the reference antenna by the channel quality indicator determining section in the transmitting antennas; and a feedback information generating section that generates feedback information for the transmitting side including the channel quality indicator value of the reference antenna and the relative channel quality indicator values. - View Dependent Claims (3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9)

10. A multi input multi output transmitting apparatus comprising:

a receiving section that receives feedback information containing an absolute value of communication quality of a reference antenna and relative values of communication quality of antennas other than the reference antenna; a feedback information processing section that calculates communication quality of each antenna from the feedback information; and a transmission control section that controls transmission of substreams via the antennas based on the calculated communication quality.
