A spray gun is disclosed, including components and kits of components thereof, comprising a body comprising an attachment point for a compatible liquid reservoir and an adapter. The adapter comprises, at a first end, a non-threaded connection for attachment to a connector of a compatible liquid reservoir, the adapter being attached at a second end to the attachment point on the body such that the adapter remains attached to the body upon removal of a compatible liquid reservoir from the non-threaded connection.

5. A method of using a spray gun comprisingproviding a spray gun having a body comprising an attachment point for a compatible liquid reservoir;
- providing an adapter comprising, at a first end, a non-threaded connection for attachment to a connector of a compatible liquid reservoir; and
  
  attaching the adapter, at a second end thereof, to the attachment point on the body such that the adapter remains attached to the body upon removal of a compatible liquid reservoir from the non-threaded connection.

- - 6. The method of claim 5 comprisingproviding a liquid reservoir comprising a fluid outlet;
    - inverting spray gun from its normal operating position such that the adapter is beneath the body; and
      
      attaching the spray gun to the liquid reservoir by attaching the non-threaded connection to the fluid outlet.
  - 7. The method of claim 6 comprisingafter attaching the spray gun to the liquid reservoir, returning the spray gun to its normal operating position such that the liquid reservoir is above the body;
    - andspraying a coating liquid with the spray gun.
  - 8. The method of claim 7 comprisingafter spraying the coating liquid, re-inverting the spray gun from its normal operating position such that the liquid reservoir is below the body;
    - andremoving the spray gun from the liquid reservoir such that the adapter remains attached to the body of the spray gun.
  - 9. The method of claim 8 comprisingafter re-inverting the spray gun from its normal operating position such that the liquid reservoir is below the body, but before removing the spray gun from the liquid reservoir, actuating a trigger on the spray gun to allow liquid in the spray gun to drain back into the liquid reservoir.
  - 10. The method of claim 7 wherein the liquid reservoir comprises a container having an open end and a lid for closing the open end, the fluid outlet being located in the lid;
    - the method comprising, before attaching the spray gun to the liquid reservoir, securing the lid to the container.
  - 11. The method of claim 10 wherein the liquid reservoir further comprises a collapsible liner;
    - the method comprising placing the collapsible liner into the open end of the container before securing the lid to the container.
  - 12. The method of claim 11 comprising securing the liner to the lid.
  - 13. The method of claim 12 comprising, before spraying the coating liquid with the spray gun, removing the liner and lid from the container, such that the liner remains secured to the lid.

14. A kit comprisinga liquid reservoir comprising a fluid outlet;
- an adapter comprising, at a first end, a non-threaded connection for attachment to the fluid outlet, the adapter being attachable at a second end to an attachment point on a body of a compatible spray gun such that the adapter will remain attached to the body upon removal of a compatible liquid reservoir from the non-threaded connection.

- - 15. The kit of claim 14 wherein the liquid reservoir comprises a container having an open end and a lid for closing the open end, the fluid outlet being located in the lid.
  - 16. The kit of claim 15 further comprising a collar for securing the lid to the container.
  - 17. The kit of claim 15 further comprising a filter located in the lid.
  - 18. The kit of claim 15 wherein the liquid reservoir comprises a vent.
  - 19. The kit of claim 15 wherein the container is collapsible.
  - 20. The kit of claim 15 further comprising a removable, collapsible liner for placement within the container.
  - 21. The kit of claim 20 further comprising a collar for securing the lid to the container.
  - 22. The kit of claim 20 wherein the liner has a shape in its non-collapsed state that corresponds to the shape of the container.
